‘Making Star Trek real’: Elon Musk reveals futuristic vision for SpaceX
Elon Musk envision a future where humanity is a multi-planetary species
Elon Musk has revealed the purpose and futuristic vision of SpaceX in his introductory remarks during Pete Hegseth’s, US Secretary of War, visit to Starbase on January 12 as part of his nationwide Arsenal of Freedom tour.
The 54-year-old billionaire said after taking the stage, “We want to make Star Trek real. We want to make Starfleet Academy real. So that it’s not always science fiction, but one day, the science fiction turns to science FACT.”
Musk also highlighted the scaling production for a multiplanetary future, stating, “And we have spaceships going through space—big spaceships—with people going to other planets, going to the moon, and ultimately going beyond our star system to other star systems.”
According to Tesla CEO, this potential reach beyond our star system and distant planets could help humanity to meet aliens or discover long-dead alien civilizations.
“I don’t know, but we want to go. And we want to see what’s happening. And we want to have epic, futuristic spaceships with lots of people in them traveling to places we’ve never been to before,” Musk added.
During the visit, Hegseth made an announcement in which Pentagon will soon integrate xAI’s Grok at Impact Level 5 to gain secure and real-time insights and boost defense ties.
