‘Disgraced’ Andrew adds to King Charles tensions with new move
King Charles troubles not over as Andrew makes new demands amid Royal Lodge eviction
Andrew has been causing new tensions for King Charles after delaying his move to Sandringham Estate amid eviction from Royal Lodge.
According to new reports, the setback has sparked another dispute between the brothers, with Andrew insisting he simply wants to be treated fairly.
A source told the Daily Beast’s Royalist that the “disgraced” former royal is said to be asking for a large six- or seven-bedroom house on the estate.
The source revealed that Andrew did not stop there and went on to ask for “staff including a cook, gardener, housekeeper, driver and police security.”
They said the former Duke of York feels he has done everything asked of him and expects reasonable treatment as he gives up the lease on his current home.
“Andrew has done exactly what has been asked of him, and he just wants to be left alone. He is giving up the lease on one of England’s finest houses and expects to be treated fairly,” the tipster said.
Former courtiers told the publication that the issue was always likely to come down to money, with Andrew expected to negotiate over the details of the deal.
“Andrew is essentially being bought out of the lease, so he will haggle over every last detail of the deal,” they said.
This comes after Charles delivered final blow to Andrew by formally stripping him of his last remaining royal honours.
According to The Gazette, the King ordered that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s name be removed from the official rolls of both the Order of the Garter and the Royal Victorian Order.
