Ange Postecoglou appointed Nottingham Forest head coach after Nuno’s departure
Nuno took charge of the club in December 2023
Nottingham Forest Football Club is looking to fill the head coach position left vacant after the sacking of former head coach Nuno Espirito Santo.
The leading contender to take charge of the team is Ange Postecoglou and it is expected that the Australian manager can be confirmed within the next 24 hours.
Some hope that he might be in the dugout Forest’s Premier League clash against Arsenal on Saturday, September 13.
The 60-year-old former footballer previously coached Spurs and led them to their first major trophy, Europa League, in 17 years.
However, he was sacked after the team finished 17th in the Premier League.
Nottingham Forest FC is currently at 10th spot with four points and has played three games of the season.
The last game with Nuno in charge resulted in a 3-0 defeat against West Ham.
Nuno took charge of the club in December 2023 and guided them to seventh-place finish in the last Premier League season, the club’s highest since 1994-1995.
According to an Italian sportswriter, the contract between the club and new manager has already been finalised.
He added, “Postecoglou will sign a deal until June 2027”.
