Rebel Wilson in hot waters for sexual misconduct claims
Rebel Wilson has been hit with legal notice
Rebel Wilson is embroiled in a controversy involving her costar taking legal action against her.
Wilson-directed movie musical The Deb’s lead star Charlotte Maclnnes sent Isn’t It Romantic actress a concerns notice in Australia Thursday, August 7.
Maclnnes sued the Pitch Perfect star with the stance that she defamed her by making wrong sexual misconduct claims.
As per the official document filed by Maclnnes, the 45-year-old caused her defamation by alleging that Maclnnes was the victim of sexual misconduct by the producer of the film The Deb, Amanda Ghost.
These allegations have been refuted repeatedly by the North Shore actress. However, this further led Wilson to accuse that the younger actress has ‘changed her story’ so that she doesn’t get any disadvantage in her career.
The claim by Wilson came because the actress got a role in Ghost’s production of Gatsby, and also received a record deal.
The attorneys of 25-year-old shared that their client has suffered ‘serious harm to reputation’ with Wilson’s allegation that she is dishonest and is hiding sexual harassment to save, rather advance, her career.
The attorney stated, “Publicly disclosing our client's name as an alleged victim of sexual harassment, without her consent, and then accusing her of lying about it as justification for identifying her” was "improper, unjustified and lacking in bona fides."
For the unversed, Wilson can correct her statement or apologize within around 28 days after which legal action against the star will be taken.
