The Duke of Sussex celebrates a 'sacred day' in a poignant new video hours after Trooping the Colour
Prince Harry has released a brand-new video just hours after his estranged family reunited for Trooping the Colour.
On Sunday, June 15, The Sun shared the Duke of Sussex’s new video message honouring Germany’s first-ever Veteran’s Day.
In the video, Harry showed off his German as he addressed the nation directly, beginning his message with “Guten Tag Deutschland!” and saying it was a “profound privilege” to speak on such a “sacred day.”
Filmed wearing four of his ceremonial medals, including his Afghan Campaign medal, the 41-year-old reflected on his “last visit” to Germany during the 2023 Invictus Games.
“The warmth, the enthusiasm, and the unwavering support shown by the German people… was truly humbling,” he said. “You certainly delivered on your promise to create a home for respect.”
The Duke, who served in the British Army for 10 years, used the moment to pay tribute to veterans worldwide. “Veterans are more than warriors — they are leaders,” he said. “Loyalty must never lie with power alone, but with the people. With truth.”
Though no longer permitted to wear his military uniform at royal events, Harry has continued to champion service. “We serve not to glorify war, but to protect peace… to uphold a collective oath – to country, to people.”
He ended his message with praise for Germany’s leadership and a call for unity in turbulent times. “Vielen dank und einen schönen Tag,” he concluded.
The video surfaced less than 24 hours after the rest of the Royal Family appeared on Buckingham Palace’s balcony for King Charles’ birthday parade.
Notably, neither Harry nor his wife Meghan Markle were in attendance.
