Kristi Noem sheds light on shooting her dog
South Dakota Governor reveals motivate behind killing pet
Former US president Donald Trump’s potential vice president candidate Kristi Noem revealed the cause of shooting her dog while answering criticism as the Republican had been under media scrutiny for killing her pet.
While speaking with Fox News Wednesday, Noem revealed: "It was a dog that was extremely dangerous. It had come to us from a family who had found her way too aggressive."
The 52-year-old came under the spotlight when she wrote in her forthcoming memoir No Going Back a story about killing a 14-month-old dog named Cricket.
Noem’s book will be released on May 7 and is claimed to be "packed with surprising stories and practical lessons."
Kristi Noem is a Republican and a South Dakota Governor. She has been defending her shooting of a wire-haired pointer that made headlines after the Guardian published a story last week.
“We were her second chance. And she was — the day she was put down was a day that she massacred livestock that were part of our neighbors,” she told the news channel Wednesday adding that the animal attacked her and that “it was a hard decision.”
Noem added: "I had to make a choice between keeping my small children and other people safe, or a dangerous animal, and I chose the safety of my children.”
The recent anecdote may have dampened the chances of her being picked by Donald Trump.
