WhatsApp rolling out status sharing feature on Instagram Story
Meta app's new feature aims to enhance user experience
WhatsApp, a messaging app owned by Meta, is developing a new feature that would let users post updates of their status straight to Instagram Stories.
While the software is still in beta testing, this capability has been observed in both the iOS and Android versions, according to The Mac Observer.
Cross-posting content between the two platforms would be possible with this new feature, which would work similarly to how users may publish Instagram Stories to Facebook.
Users will have the opportunity to choose whether or not they want their WhatsApp Status to be shared as Instagram Story, as this feature is optional.
Although the specifics of the implementation are still being worked out, it appears that users will be able to enable or disable this cross-posting using the WhatsApp app.
However, it is to be noted that given Instagram and WhatsApp are two different platforms, controlling who views shared content on Instagram will probably be done through the Instagram Story audience settings.
Enhanced user ease appears to be the goal of this new WhatsApp feature.
The Meta app streamlines the process of updating statuses across various social networking apps by enabling users to share their updates to both platforms at the same time.
Users would be able to do this in one step rather than having to make and publish separate updates for WhatsApp and Instagram.
