Spice Girls reveal audition tape to celebrate their 30 year anniversary
The iconic girl group shared unreleased home videos from when they first came together in the 90s
The Spice Girls are celebrating 30 years in the industry!
On Monday, the iconic girl group – consisting of Emma Bunton, 48, Victoria Beckham, 49, Geri Halliwell Horner, 51, Mel Brown, 48 and Mel Chisholm, 50 – took the celebrations to their X account (formerly Twitter) by posting a compilation of the early days of the band, including their never-before-seen audition tape.
“Today marks the 30th anniversary of the very first Spice Girls auditions!” the caption read.
“What started back in 1994 has turned into an amazing journey, way beyond anything we could have ever imagined. Thank you to our fans for your support from day one [sparkly heart emoji] #FriendshipNeverEnds”
The archival footage showed the girls dancing, singing, and rehearsing their choreography as a group as they donned unmistakable ‘90s ‘fits and joked and laughed with each other.
The video was set to their hit song Wannabe.
Though the group split in 2001, they reunited for a tour in 2007-08, 2012, and most recently in 2019.
In January, Mel B teased some “good news” from the band on Today With Hoda & Jenna, saying,“Well, I’ve been saying this forever, but now we’re actually going to be releasing some really good news in about a few weeks that involves all five of us.”
