'The Beautiful Game' narrates touching tale of homeless footballers
Netflix's The Beautiful Game is all set to debut on March 29
The Beautiful Game, starring Bill Nighy as the coach of an English team, is about to kick off.
The new Netflix sports drama is based on the Homeless World Cup, a real-life football tournament focused on unhoused athletes worldwide.
Notably, many of the players featured in The Beautiful Game are actual Homeless World Cup participants whose lives have been elevated through the organisation’s efforts.
The upcoming series boasts an experienced line up of showrunners.
Thea Sharrock will guide the pack with her directorial prowess, while the film written by Frank Bryce is produced by Oscar Nominee Colin Farrell, Graham Broadbent, Pete Czernin and Ben Knight with Anita Overland.
The story of the venture follows the journey of Mal, the manager of England’s homeless football team, taking his players to Rome with the hope of winning the champion’s title of the Homeless World Cup, a global street soccer tournament.
Witness the journey of an English team and their coach as they gear up for the global tournament in the Netflix movie slated to be premiered on the video streaming platform on March 29.
