No cognitive test needed: Doctor confirms Biden fit for duty
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre asserted that President Biden doesn't need a cognitive test
In the latest update on President Joe Biden's health, his annual medical examination results indicate that, at 81, he is deemed "fit for duty" by his White House physician, Dr Kevin O'Connor.
The examination, conducted at a military hospital in Maryland, affirmed that President Biden absolutely fulfils all his duties to the fullest extent possible, without any exemptions or accommodations.
The 20-doctor team found the president to be in good health, with Dr O'Connor stating, "Everything's great." President Biden, who humorously remarked that the doctors "think I look too young," continues to work out at least five days per week, maintaining a healthy and vigorous lifestyle.
Addressing concerns about cognitive decline, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre asserted that the president doesn't need a cognitive test. "He passes a cognitive test every day," she affirmed, emphasising his ability to navigate diverse topics with precision.
President Biden's health has been under scrutiny, particularly in the context of the upcoming White House election. The US president, whose last physical was in February 2023, has been treated for atrial fibrillation, gastroesophageal reflux, and hyperlipidemia. Despite these health considerations, the president remains dedicated to his fitness routine.
Notably, a recent special counsel report describing President Biden as "a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory" has fueled discussions about his mental state. In response, President Biden stated, "My memory is fine. I am well-meaning. And am elderly. I know what the hell I'm doing. I put this country back on its feet."
