MIRPUR: People of Azad Jammu and Kashmir have started preparations to observe the 32nd death anniversary of eminent leader of Kashmir freedom movement Muhammad Maqbool Butt Shaheed on February 11.
Kashmiri at both sides of LoC observe the martyrdom anniversary this day every year to pay tributes to Shaheed Maqbool Butt who was put to gallows by India this day in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail in 1984. Anti-India and pro freedom rallies and demonstrations in all small and major towns at both sides of the Line of Control will be hallmark of the day.
In occupied Jammu and Kashmir a complete strike followed by rallies seminars conferences and processions will be the hallmark of the martyrdom day of Maqbool Butt said Central Vice President Jammu Kashmir National Liberation Front (JKNLF) Muhammad Ramzan Advocate. The JKNLF leader said that major ceremony to observe the day will be held in Muzaffarabad under the auspices of JKNLF led by the party s President Shoukat Maqbool Butt the son of the departed freedom fighter Maqbool Butt. Similarly rallies will be held in Bagh Kotli Khuiratta Dadayal in AJK as well as in Karachi Rawalpindi Lahore and Sialkot to pay tributes to the departed soul.
