Spotlight
Money Monster
Cast: George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Jack O'Connell, Dominic West, Caitriona Balfe
Director: Jodie Foster
Tagline: Not every conspiracy is a theory.
Thriller; an irate viewer (O'Connell) takes a financial television personality (Clooney) hostage after losing all his money on a bad tip by the host.
Had a budget of $27 million; made around $24 million in its first week.
Has received mostly mixed to negative reviews from critics, who praised the casting but found the film too implausible and predictable.
Is the fourth film George Clooney and Julia Roberts have both appeared in, having previously starred in Ocean's Eleven (2001), Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (2002) and Ocean's Twelve (2004). They didn't, however, work together a lot in this movie due to scheduling reasons; Roberts shot her scenes with a green screen on the monitors.
