Ali Zafar’s in the news these days (actually, when isn’t he?). He’s flashing his ‘Six Pack Abs’ in a ‘Dard e Disco’ moment he’s having in Tere Bin Laden 2. He’s composed and sung the official Pakistan Super League anthem as well as ‘Chhaka Choka’, the Islamabad United team song. He performed alongside international sensation Sean Paul at the opening ceremony and if all this hype wasn’t enough,

He performed alongside international sensation Sean Paul at the opening ceremony and if all this hype wasn’t enough, he’s gone and announced that he will be back in Bollywood this year for a Gauri Shinde film with Alia Bhatt and Shahrukh Khan. But wait! Whatever happened to Deosai, the film he has been making in Pakistan? We caught up with Ali at the PSL in Dubai and asked the inevitable.

“Deosai is an extremely ambitious project,” Ali offered. “I am actually working on another Pakistani film before Deosai. Deosai will happen next year but it will happen for sure.”

For obvious reasons, Ali is tight lipped about his next Bollywood project though we have come to learn that he’ll be leaving for his first spell by the end of this month. Knowing that he’s extremely restless when it comes to work - he isn’t known to stay out of the picture for long – we also asked if there was anything else that he wanted to take up. The star does paint, sing, act; he’s dabbled in modeling as well as poetry and he’s more or less done it all. Is there anything else he wants to pursue?

“Cricket,” he replied with a straight face and we were unable to decipher whether he was serious or kidding. “I actually play very well and I would want to train properly and try out for the team.” He certainly does have the fitness level and love for the game; we wouldn’t be surprised if he was playing in the next PSL tournament!
