The second outing of Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meerza (co-writers of the critically acclaimed Na Maloom Afraad), Actor in Law created a fair amount of hype when it was announced earlier this year. With a star-cast that includes Fahad Mustafa, Mehwish Hayat and Indian actor Om Puri, the film sounded promising.

Now that the first official poster for the film is out, one can honestly say is that it looks appealing because it is both fun and serious.

While Mustafa, who is the “actor in law” himself, and Hayat, who appears to be a journalist, look cheerful, Puri doesn’t seem pleased about anything, and conveys disdain with a single look.

Carrying an umbrella and donning a black suit, he’s the lawyer, we suppose, since the three are standing outside a courtroom. To find out more about these three and how their stories are interconnected, one has to wait for the trailer, which comes out later this month - on June 28.

Though not seen in the first poster, Actor in Law also features acclaimed actor Alyy Khan, who is said to be playing the antagonist in the film.

Actor in Law is a comedy that highlights social issues, with a tinge of humour and sarcasm. And given the success of Na Maloom Afraad, expectations are high from the film. Expected to hit theatres on Eid-ul-Azha (later this year), this upcoming social comedy will clash on the box office with Bilal Ashraf’s Janaan.
