No mandate was given for bloodshed: Nawaz

- March 05, 2013 - Updated 1428 PKT - From Web Edition

LAHORE: PML-N President Nawaz Sharif said Tuesday that people were being killed from Karachi to Khyber and the government’s writ no longer existed.

Talking to media following his meeting with a 22-member delegation from Balochistan which announced its decision to join the PML-N, Nawaz Sharif asked what President Asif Ali Zardari had given to the people during the government’s five year tenure.

Nawaz stated that he was more concerned with the future of the country rather than his politics. The PML-N president reiterated that elections would take place and Pakistan would see brighter days. He added that if the government nominee for caretaker prime minister was more suitable his party would accept the decision.

The PML-N chief asked federal interior minister what steps were taken to provide security despite having information about terrorism activities.

Nawaz Sharif further said that there is a need to get united and take practical measures for rooting out terrorism. He added that people had given the government the mandate to protect their life and property not for bloodshed.

His brother Sharif junior is still in charge of one third of Pakistan where the situation is no better than other parts of Pak.Bloodshed is everywhere in Pak and friendly opposition is equally responsible for this. They are all tried and tested time and again. You need some one honest as well as capable and able to put thigs right and in my opinion Imran is the only and only politician out there who can deliver.

I hope PML-N, PTI, JUI-F, PML-F, ANP win majority in elections. In my view their patriotism is not questionable. PPP, MQM, PML-Q can destroy the country and sell the country because their interests aligned with and their strings are controlled by foreigners.

@Ek pakistani: Who would you think of as someone able to be entrusted with our votes this time around?

Ahmed from USA, if you support NS then you're just another loser citizen of Pak who have been destroying the country in the name of democracy and electing the same losers and thugs over and over again. Sharif is a product of the worst Dictator of our country and Zardari himself is another dictator within his part so no difference between Shadari (Sharif & Zardari).

The Sharifs just seem to ignore all the wrongdoings in their own domains. How many corrupt leaders can this country afford to test and reject?

Nawaz Sharif is quite right. PTI brand has narrow outlook and to criticize even a good move is done by Sharifs..

Nawaz is saying all the right things but doing an immense wrong to the nation by striking a deal with the terrorists in Punjab.
