WASHINGTON: President Barack Obama stressed the need for an end to Hamas rocket attacks on Israel in a telephone call to Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi on Monday to discuss ways to de-escalate cross-border fighting in Gaza, the White House said.

Obama "underscored the necessity of Hamas ending rocket fire into Israel" in his call to Mursi, the White House said in a statement.

During the call, and in a separate one to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, Obama voiced regret over the loss of Israeli and Palestinian lives, the White House said.

Its no surprise that for Americans and Europeans, Gazan blood has no value, but the fact that the shameless and coward so-called Muslim rulers are watching Palestinians being slaughtered, not saying boo. The only countries who are showing some courage here are Egypt, Turkey, and perhaps Qatar.

I think Obama (America) is scared of Irsael (Netanyahu). He only "voiced regret over loss of Israeli and Palestinian lives" when talking to Netanyahu, implying that it was okay for Israel to bomb Palestinian territory, and that this is something Israelis had to do! If he were a fair and brave person, he would have condemned Israeli bombardment of Gaza as strongly as he condemned Hamas rocket fire on Israel.
