KARACHI: Most of us believe that once dead, a person can never breathe again. But what happened in Dumba Goth, located on the outskirts of Karachi, may change this belief.

Or will it?

Manzooran Mai claims that she was dead but after eight hours she suddenly started breathing and speaking.

But that is not all.

In her ‘second’ life her voice at times automatically transforms into that of a child.

Four days ago Manzooran Mai and her family had come to Dumba Goth, Karachi from Muzaffargarh. Her husband says Manzooran Mai died at 4:30 am today and after eight hours she was taken to an Edhi morgue in Sohrab Goth for ‘Ghusal’ (bathing of the dead body).

As preparations were being made for the ‘Ghusal’, Manzooran Mai suddenly came back to life and began speaking in a child’s voice, he said.

Manzooran Mai said speaking in a child’s voice is not a deliberate act. But when insisted to say something in a child's voice on camera, she agreed and began speaking in that manner voice. Which brings into question the credibility of her earlier account.

One might still find it believable that Manzooran Mai might not have died in the first place, as no doctor had confirmed her death. But the notion of her being possessed by a child’s soul throws the whole matter into a quagmire of doubt.
