KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has telephoned Interior Ministr Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khah to lodge protest over raids and alleged harassment by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Sindh.

According to spokesman for the chief minister, Qaim Ali Shah told the federal minister that activities of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the FIA were intervention in the provincial autonomy.

The interior ministry told Qaim Ali Shah that no province should have reservations over the powers given to the FIA as they were not confined to Sindh only.

Chaudhry Nisar said that the government respects provincial autonomy, adding that the aim of giving powers to the FIA is to enable the agency to investigate intra-provincial and international crimes.
