FAISALABAD: A 15-year-old boy was gunned down by police as they mistook him for a robber for brandishing a toy gun here on Monday.

According to details, Farhan was taking selfies of him carrying a toy gun from his mobile phone along with his friend out on the street when the local police mistook him for a bandit and opened fire on him without any warning.

The police personnel of People’s Colony area took the injured teenager to Civil Hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds after several hours. Farhan’s friend luckily escaped the incident unhurt.

Upon close examination, police officials found out that the gun was in fact a toy. Police officials purportedly fled away from the hospital after hearing the news of Farhan’s death.
