Muslim community concerns conveyed to Texas representative

AUSTIN: Muslim Community Center Chairman Aftab Siddiqui and Harriet Irby visited Texas representative Molly White to convey Muslim community’s concerns on her anti Muslim remarks.

Molly White told the visitors that she was not against Muslims, however she has reservations against Muslim representative organization of CAIR.

AUSTIN: Muslim Community Center Chairman Aftab Siddiqui and Harriet Irby visited Texas representative Molly White to convey Muslim community’s concerns on her anti Muslim remarks.

Molly White told the visitors that she was not against Muslims, however she has reservations against Muslim representative organization of CAIR.

She said CAIR is already declared a terrorist group in United Arab Emirates. Aftab Siddiqui while talking to Representative White said that Muslims in US are from diversified background and belongs different of the world.

He said that in fifty seven Muslim majority countries, some are democracies and some are run by dictators. Each country has its own cultural tradition. These countries run their independent policies, where eighty percent of Muslims are non-Arab and a large number of Arabs are not Muslim.
He said that Bangladesh, Pakistan Turkey had elected women heads of states. White said that she has nothing against Muslims and will keep meeting Muslims in future.

Texas Representative Molly White made national news when she left an Israeli flag beside US flag in her office during Muslim legislative day and had instructed her staff to ask for pledge of allegiance to any Muslim coming to her office during the day. Aftab Siddiqui said that he was not asked for pledge of allegiance upon his visit to her office. He further described the meeting as cordial.
