NOWSHERA: The district education department terminated the services of a teacher and sent another on a forced retirement while an enquiry against four others was underway, sources said.
The sources said that District Education Officer (DEO) Nisar Muhammad Khan constituted a committee after receiving complaints to probe the allegations levelled against six teachers.
The committee headed by the Principal Government High School Noor Jamal Khan questioned Syed Ahmed Ali Shah who was appointed in 1993 at the Government Primary School in Pir Sabaq but interestingly the school started functioning in 2008 while he started drawing salary in 2010.
There was no satisfactory answer with the teacher and the DEO terminated him from service and asked him to refund the salaries of the past five years to the exchequer, the sources said.
Another teacher, Daud Khan, posted as a teacher in the Government Primary School Ali Shah was also sent on a forced retirement as he had been suffering from mental illness and was
not attending the school since long.
The sources said that the enquiry against four other teachers was still underway and an appropriate action would be taken against them in the light of the enquiry report. It was learnt that they had obtained their degrees from the Al-Khair University in Azad and Jammu Kashmir, which had already been banned by the Higher Education Commission, Islamabad.
