PESHAWAR: The government established the Khyber Pakh-tunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) with the mandate to collect sales tax on services.

A ceremony to formally inaugurate the authority and launch its web portal was held at Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Thursday. Provincial minister for law and parliamentary affairs Israrullah Gandapur was the chief guest on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Israrullah Gandapur said the KPRA should have been established two years back, adding that the PTI-led government established the authority within a short period of two months. Senior minister Sirajul Haq stressed the need to gain the trust of the taxpayers to make the maximum collection of taxes possible.
