Two successive sessions for the course orientation workshop of ‘Cyber-Security Awareness and RISK-Mitigation Essentials’ course (CARE 4 Students) held at Roots Garden School, Harley Street and Roots School System (RSS), DHA Phase 1 Flagship campus by the Department of Fee and IT in collaboration with RISE, says a press release.
In which the joint master trainer of Roots School and Riphah Institute of Systems Engineering Kamran Sajjad imparted his knowledge and to the audience through an interactive session which was encompassed with worth seeing visuals and eye opening statistics related to cyber-crimes, social media platforms and online safety and privacy. The purpose of the orientation workshop was to bring awareness among the students of the age group of 12 to 25 years particularly about the social media usage, internet usage/accessibility, and cyber crimes taking place in online digital world in Pakistan these days which will eventually help students to start and accomplish the designed online course accordingly.
During the presentation, the master trainer also highlighted and gave a brief overview of the online course which is going to be launched first time in Pakistan as previously there is no such course available in Pakistan for the students to the best of the knowledge. The course is comprised of six modules i.e. ‘cyber crime, cyber bullying, cyber profiling, cyber privacy, cyber security overview of mobile devices, and cyber security guidelines for mobile devices.’
The contents of the course includes some very important definitions with pictorial clarifications, statistics and info-graphics, stunning videos, case studies, guidelines, interviews and news events particularly. Some reality based case studies were also shared by the master trainer during the session to aware the students about the criticality of the digital world in order to protect themselves from hackers, cyber-criminals, black mailers, burglars, kidnappers, traffickers, cyber stalkers, and cyber bullies. Yasir Mehmood, Head of Fee, IT And MIS, also shared his knowledge with students about increasing Cyber security threats for students in digital world.
