PNCA to hold Youth Drama Festival week

Islamabad: Pakistan National Council of the Arts and Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage is holding week long ‘Youth Drama Festival’ from March 2 to March 8 at the National Art Gallery Auditorium.
Making an effort towards encouraging the youth to explore their creative potentials and promote the diversity that exists within the youth community of this country, PNCA has taken this initiative to bring together talented individuals within our youth to excel in front of live audiences. According to the Directors of Performing Arts and Drama of PNCA, the prime purpose of the Youth Drama Festival is to provide a showcase for participants to demonstrate their unique talents in drama work. It brings together students, teachers, theatre professionals, and community members to view, discuss critique and enjoy each other’s creative efforts, under the guidance of experienced adjudicators.
Drama and theatre in any country has been the
source of entertainment for centuries and Pakistan with its absolute abundance of passionate youth needs such a platform to showcase this talent.
The list of selected Plays for the Festival is as follows: ‘Jaman Ka Per’ by Nust Business School on March2 ; ‘Ibtida-e-Ishq’ by COMSATS on March 3; ‘Dyota’ by Preston University on March 4; ‘Meri Kahani’ by Quaid-e- Azam University on March 5; ‘Jaray Ki Dastan’ by Fatima Jinnah Women’s University on March6; ‘Guria Ka Ghar’ by National University of Science & Technology (NUST) on March 7; ‘Khawab’ by Bahria University on March 8. The week long Youth Drama Festival would open every day at 7:00 p.m. from March 2 to March 8, 2015.
