A 26-year-old youth was bricked to death by a woman over a minor issue in the Ghaziabad area on Friday.
The victim was identified as Akram of Afzal Pulli. The accused woman Nagina Bibi exchanged hot words with her neighbour Akram over dumping trash in front of her house. Later, the woman hurled a brick at him inflicting serious head injury on him. He was rushed to a local hospital where he died. Police shifted the body to mortuary and registered a case against the woman.
Boy dies: A seven-year-old boy died and his father received injuries when the roof of a two-storey dilapidated house collapsed in Rang Mahal on Friday.
The victim was identified as Usman, son of Amanat of Gumti Bazaar Rang Mahal. On being informed, the rescuers rushed to the spot, pulled the boy and his father out of the debris and rushed them to a local hospital where Usman died. Condition of Amanat was also said to be precarious.
FOUND DEAD: A 45-year-old man was found dead in Harbnanspura police limits on Friday. Some passersby spotted the body of a man lying near the gate of Rizwan Garden Harbanspura. The man, yet to be identified, was an addict who might have died of excessive use of drugs, police suspected. Body was shifted to morgue.
DIES: A 65-year-old man died at the hands of some unidentified swindlers in the Yakki Gate area on Friday.
Some passersby spotted the body of an old man lying outside Trauma Centre Nawaz Sharif Hospital and informed the police.
ARRESTED: Sensitive agencies arrested five alleged facilitators of the terrorists who had attacked two churches in Lahore on March 15, 2015.
It was reported that the sensitive agencies had arrested five suspects of banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), claiming that they were involved in facilitating the suicide attackers. Various explosive devices, including detonators and maps were also recovered from their possession. The arrested terrorists were dispatched to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
FIRE: Fire broke out in a paint factory on Bund Road on Friday. Cause of fire was said to be a short circuit. On being informed, the firefighters rushed to the spot and extinguished fire.
dismissed: Chief Traffic Police Officer (CTO) Friday dismissed a warden of Traffic Sector Mall-II from service for being absent from duty without intimation. Warden Noor Zaman was absent from job for the last six months without informing the department, on which CTO issued order of his dismissal from service.
