Shahbaz assures lawyers of justice

Orders transfer of Sialkot DPO; says those involved in ransacking to face action

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said he is deeply grieved over the death of two lawyers in Daska and the Punjab government and people of the province equally share the grief of lawyers’ community.
The CM expressed these views while talking to a delegation led by Punjab Bar Council Vice Chairperson Farha Ejaz Baig on Wednesday.
The CM said justice will be provided at all cost. He said a complete challan of the case will be submitted in the court within 14 days and he will personally monitor the progress of the case. The CM said no one will be allowed to create hindrance in the provision of justice. He said orders have been issued to transfer Sialkot DPO and DSP concerned so as to fulfil the demands of justice. He said peaceful protest is the right of lawyers’ community, however, those who burnt vehicles and buildings will be taken to task. He sought cooperation of lawyers’ community for bringing the elements involved in ransacking into condign justice.
The meeting offered Fateha for the departed souls and prayed for the early recovery of the injured.
Shahbaz Sharif condemned the tragic incident of Daska and sympathised with the bereaved family. He ordered transfer of Sialkot DPO and the DSP concerned. He said the case will be made example by ensuring provision of justice and supremacy of law. He said barbarism has been committed by killing two innocent lawyers which is highly condemnable. Shahbaz Sharif assured lawyers’ community that justice and law will take its course.
He said no one will be allowed to commit injustice. He said the lawyers’ community plays an important role in moulding public opinion in society and provision of justice to people. He said lawyers play a key role in ensuring supremacy of law.
Vice Chairperson Punjab Bar Council Farha Ejaz Baig and members of the delegation thanked the CM on the assurance of fulfilling demands of justice in Daska incident and added they are with the CM in supremacy of law and justice. Punjab Ministers Shuja Khanzada, Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, MPs Rana Sanaullah, Zaeem Hussain Qadri, Mansha Ullah Butt, Asif Bajwa, Rana Muhammad Afzal, chief secretary, Additional Attorney General Pakistan Nasir Bhutta and others were present. Those who met the CM included members Punjab Bar Council Abdul Samad, Akhtar Hussain Bhatti, Rana Intizaar Hussain, Mian Faiz Ali, Rana Muhammad Saeed Akther, Jalil Qaisar Nagra, Jamil Asghar Bhatti, Muhammad Saeed Bhutta, Awais Aslam Sindhu, Vice President, Daska Bar Association, Nabi Ahmed Bajwa, Secretary Nasir Ghuman and other office-bearers.
greets: Shahbaz Sharif has congratulated national cricket team on winning one day match against Zimbabwe. The chief minister expressed pleasure over victory of cricket team and said that due to the visit of Zimbabwean cricket team to Pakistan, cricket lovers witnessed best cricket. He said that visit of Zimbabwean team to Pakistan was an important progress towards revival of international cricket in Pakistan.
Grieved: Shahbaz Sharif has expressed deep grief over the death of Khalid Shafi, a renowned poet and editor. In a condolence message, the chief minister prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude.
