The Maritime Security Agency (MSA) on Tuesday seized three Indian fishing boats and arrested 30 crews, who were later handed over to the Docks police, said the agency on Wednesday.
The Indian fishermen were held for fishing illegally in Pakistan’s waters, inside the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of the country.
“The Indian fishermen have been warned time and again not to indulge in illegal fishing, but they repeatedly come to our EEZ to explore benefits of rich fish resources at the mouth of the Indus Delta.
“Upon reaching Karachi, they were handed over to the Docks Police Station for further legal action. The police have lodged an FIR against the fishermen who were later moved to the Landhi Jail.”
