Six ‘gangsters’ shot dead by Rangers, police

Another suspected gangster kills himself when paramilitary soldiers raid his hideout

Six suspected gangsters were gunned down in shootouts with Rangers and police in Lyari on Wednesday.
A Rangers spokesperson said the paramilitary force had raided a gangsters’ hideout in Kalakot, Lyari in the wee hours of the day. The gangsters fired gunshots and tried to flee but four of them were killed in retaliatory firing.
However, the others managed to escape.
The spokesperson said the bodies of the four gangsters were shifted to the Civil Hospital. They were identified as Danish alias Kekara, Arshad, Moosa and Kamran Baloch, members of the Uzair Baloch gnag and wanted by the Lyari police in many murder cases.
Rangers also found weapons on the bodies.
The spokesperson said the gangsters were also wanted in kidnapping for ransom and other criminal cases.

Police shootout
Later in the afternoon, gangsters attacked SP City Aftab Nizamani in Kalakot, but two of them were killed in retaliatory firing by police.
SHO Safdar Mashwani said the traders of Lyari had held a meeting with the SP City and informed him that the gangsters of the area were regrouping and extorting money from them.
On Wednesday afternoon, the SP City held a meeting with the police officials in Lyari to discuss the issue and on his way back, his convoy was attacked on Aslam Brohi Road.
Some gangsters fired gunshots and a bullet damaged the rear windscreen of the SP’s vehicle.
The police guards accompanying the official fired back and gunned down two gangsters, while their associates escaped.
Two TT pistols and five magazines were found on the bodies.
One of the gangsters was identified as Naseem Baloch, a member of the Baba Ladla gang.

‘Gangster’ kills himself
An alleged gangster killed himself to avoid being arrested when Rangers raided his hideout in Haji Pariya village, Old Golimar, Pak Colony.
SHO Irfan Afridi said when a team of Rangers 92 Wing Lyari conducted a raid there, Elahi Bux Baloch hid in the bathroom where he shot himself.
The officer said a TT pistol, five rounds an empty shell of a 30-bore pistol bullet was found at the hideout.
