Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Tuesday condemned the wounding of Maulana Aurangzeb Farooqi in an attack.

He expressed his grief and deep concern over the killing of Farooqi’s guard, driver and four police personnel in the attack.

“The elements fanning the fire of sectarianism in the city are open enemies of the country,” Hussain said in a statement.

He said those elements were working on the evil conspiracy to disturb law and order in the country. He expressed sympathies to Maulana Farooqi and prayed for his early recovery.

The MQM chief said that the murder of any person was equal to murdering humanity. He expressed sympathies to the grieving families who lost their loved ones in the attack and prayed to Almighty Allah to bless the persons killed in the attack.
