ISLAMABAD: A retired senior official of Ministry of Law and Justice allegedly misled the court of a senior civil judge in Islamabad claiming that he is still serving in the Ministry.
Documents available with The News reveal that Muhammad Ajmal Khan, chief protocol officer (BPS-18) in Law and Justice Division, retired on November 12, 2014.
The official was in possession of a residence allotted by the government. However after his retirement, he did not vacate the house despite repeated attempts from the Housing Ministry.
After repeated attempts by the ministry to vacate the house, Ajmal Khan’s daughter filed a case in the court of senior civil judge Islamabad and presented all the documents including the retirement notification of her father.
The plaintiff pleaded before the court that she is working as a lecturer in the same locality where the house is located; therefore, it is prayed that they should be allowed to keep possession of the house.
However, the court gave its verdict against Ajmal Khan’s daughter.
After the court’s decision, Ajmal Khan registered the case in the court of senior civil judge Islamabad and submitted an affidavit claiming that the plaintiff is serving the Law and Justice Division as chief protocol officer and doing his duties with full devotion and hard work.
The court issued a stay orders till September 24.
When contacted, Ajmal Khan, instead of responding to the query about misleading the court, said how much money has this correspondent taken to “malign and pressurize” him. Asked about the two different petitions filed by him – one claiming he is a retired officer and the other claiming that he is still serving – Ajmal Khan said his lawyer would respond in the court.
