RAWALPINDI: The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif, who is on an official visit to South Africa, delivered separate talks to the alumni of South African National Defence College and at Institute of Security Studies.“The talks focused on South Asia Security situation and Pakistan’s contributions in the war against terrorism,” said an ISPR press release issued here on Tuesday.
The COAS, while highlighting the successes of Operation Zarb-e-Azb (ZeA), said that Pakistan had successfully dislodged the terrorists from their established sanctuaries and continues to pursue them till their total elimination. Pakistan has rendered unparalleled sacrifices for regional peace. With unprecedented successes in our operations against terrorism, the Pakistan Army stands tall as one of the most trained and battle hardened armies, he added. He said Pakistan was the most resilient nation and having suffered through so much of terrorism is on the rise. “Ours is collective national victory of a nation, so resolute and determined to root out terrorism form our region.”
