ISLAMABAD: On the directions of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, two cabinet committees have been formed for contacting various political parties to pave the way for a constitutional amendment so that the upcoming Senate elections can be held through a show of hands rather than through a secret ballot. Two committees, including Pervaiz Rashid, Minister for Information, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Minister for Railways and Ms Anusha Rahman, Minister of State for Information Technology, are in the first committee while the second committee comprises Ahsan Iqbal Minister for Planning, Mehtab Abbasi, Governor KP, and Barrister Zafarullah.These committees would contact different political parties so that horse-trading can be discouraged and transparency ensured.
