PSL 7 to begin in January, matches in Karachi, Lahore
LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Pakistan Super League franchises have agreed to conduct the seventh edition of the country’s biggest Twenty20 tournament in January and February next year.
A press release of PCB stated that the decision was taken after a meeting between the board officials and the franchise owners on Friday.
The seventh edition of PSL will likely start from the first week of January next year. The officials decided to hold 17 matches each in Karachi and Lahore.
Both sides discussed the way forward about the new commercial rights cycle and establishing a framework for rights evaluation and their subsequent sale.
Chief Executive Wasim Khan, Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer, GM Commercial Imran Ahmed Khan, and PSL Senior General Manager Operations Usman Wahla represented the PCB.
Salman Iqbal, Sameen Rana, Haider Azhar, Nadeem Omar, Nausherwan Effandi, and Ali Naqvi represented their respective franchises.
