CJP has shown mirror to PPP by saying no govt exists in Sindh: MQM-P
KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan on Monday said it will not allow Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) to hatch a conspiracy to fuel the ethnic conflict in the metropolis, as it announced to postpone its protest rally scheduled to be held today (Tuesday), to avoid confrontation with a rally of Sindh nationalist parties on the same day.
Addressing a press conference at the party’s headquarters in Bahadurabad, MQM-P’s leaders have criticised Sindh ministers without naming them for their recent press conference, saying their conversations had exposed the conspiracy to fuel ethnic conflict and unrest in the city.
“MQM-P had already submitted an application to the commissioner for a rally on Tuesday, despite that the Sindh government has intentionally allowed the armed Sindh nationalist groups to hold a rally in the same time, but we will not allow such a conspiracy to succeed,” said party’s senior Deputy Convener Amir Khan.
Khan said the party would announce a new date soon for holding the province-wide protest rallies against the Sindh government for its ‘biased policies’ towards the urban population.
He said Sindhi nationalist groups, which are PPP’s B-team, could not intimidate Karachi’s residents. The MQM-P leader also accused the PPP of supporting Lyari’s criminal gangs to kill innocent Karachiites. He said the PPP had conducted census in Sindh and Karachi. “It was the MQM-P, which not only asked the federal government to conduct new census but also succeeded to get allocated Rs5 billion in the federal budget for Karachi.
Amir Khan also said the chief justice of Pakistan’s remarks were the biggest proof of the failure of the PPP-led Sindh government. “The CJP has shown the mirror to the PPP by saying that no government exists in Sindh province,” he quoted.
“Why is the situation in Karachi not getting improved,” Khan asked.” Even in rural Sindh, the dacoits in the Katcha areas are killing policemen and the CM Sindh is saying that ‘all is well’ in the province,” the MQM-P leader sarcastically remarked.
MQM-P’s Sindh lawmaker and leader Khawaja Izharul Hasan said everything that Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said about the federal government, he does it regularly in Sindh.
He said: “The provincial government never consults with opposition in Sindh,” he added. “If the federal government cleans the drains and covers the gutters, then the Sindh chief minister must feel bad,” said Hasan. He said the PPP has regularised 40 percent of informal settlements on drains and now has been demolishing it. “The person who does not invest money in Karachi and is not buried is a non-native,” he added.
