Man kills wife, another relative over Karo-Kari

A man allegedly killed his wife and a man in Jumma Goth and Sharafi Goth on Saturday on suspicion that they were having an illicit relationship, police said.
SHO Ahsan Channa of the Al-Falah Police Station said that Imtiaz first strangulated his wife Arbab Khatoon at their house in Jumma Goth. He later shot dead his relative at a place near the Malir River and escaped.
After learning of the woman’s murder, police arrived at the scene and took her body to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a postmortem examination.
Arbab Khatoon hailed from Hyderabad and had moved to Jumma Goth in Karachi after her marriage.
The police were busy gathering evidence when they were informed about the couple’s relative, Dost Ali, had suffered gunshot wounds.
SHO Nusrat Shaikh of Sharafi Goth Police Station said police took the victim to the JPMC where he was pronounced dead.
The victim, who was a labourer and resident of Jumma Goth, had suffered bullet wounds to his upper torso.
The bodies were taken to Hyderabad after the completion of medico-legal formalities. A case has been registered and investigations are under way.
