During his recent visit, former Indian foreign minister, Salman Khurshid, was warmly welcomed, listened to and appreciated in Pakistan. His views were respected despite the fact that he was a staunch opponent of our policies during his days at the Indian Ministry of External Affairs. He openly acknowledged that he was impressed by the hospitality of Pakistanis. This is in stark contrast to the treatment meted out to former foreign minister Khurshid Kasuri in New Delhi. He was badly mistreated while Shiv Sena extremists threw ink on his host’s face.
Both these events should open the eyes of the detractors of Pakistan. The BJP defeat in Bihar is a clear message for those who are defacing the secular face of India.
