Tribute paid to ZA Bhutto on 41st death anniversary
PESHAWAR: Tributes were paid to Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) founding chairman Zulfikar Ali Bhutto on his 41st death anniversary.
PPP provincial president Humayun Khan lauded the services of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto for giving a unanimous democratic constitution to the nation and strengthening the defence of Pakistan. “We reiterate on this day to defend the democratic principles and follow the golden principles of our leaders, who rendered sacrifices of their lives but did not bow to any dictators,” he said while speaking to journalists in connection with the 41th death anniversary of ZA Bhutto.
He said ZA Bhutto made Pakistan an atomic power and today many problems emerged after the hanging of ZA Bhutto and assassination of Benazir Bhutto. ZA Bhutto, he said, was the leader who tried his best to unite the Muslim rulers. He said the country faced irreparable losses due to the assassination of both the Bhuttos. Our correspondent adds from Parachinar: Local leaders of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Saturday said that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was a great leader, who was murdered under a conspiracy to end democracy in Pakistan and weaken the Muslim world.
Speaking at a press conference to mark the death anniversary of the PPP founder, the local party leaders including Hashmat Bangash, Jalal Bangash, Mushrarraf Hussain, Tauqir Hussain and others said that the Bhutto family had always been subjected to persecution and harassment, this is why true democracy could not flourish in the country. “The killers of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto are still at large and roaming freely, which is a glaring example of an injustice with the Bhutto family,” said one of the speakers, adding that the elements involved in the murder of Benazir Bhutto must be awarded exemplary punishment. The PPP leaders said that their party always believed in true democracy for which the Bhutto family had paid a high price.
