CM Mahmood Khan warns hoarders, profiteers of strict action
PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Monday warned of a strict action against those who were trying to create an artificial shortage of essential items in the market by hoarding the commodities. In a statement issued here, Mahmood Khan said he was personally monitoring the market situation on a daily basis through the district administrations. He said no one would be allowed to exploit the prevailing situation for earning unlawful profit and thus creating unrest amongst the public. The chief minister said the district administrations and other relevant agencies had been fully mobilized across the province to keep a vigilant eye on such elements, adding anyone found involved in such activities would be dealt with an iron hand and awarded exemplary punishment. Mahmood Khan said there was no shortage of essential commodities but some handful elements were trying to earn an extra profit by hoarding the items of daily use. He said the provincial government would not let anyone do so. The CM urged the elected representatives to play an effective role in keeping such elements under vigilance in their constituencies and keep a close liaison with the local administration so that those involved in hoarding could be brought to justice.
