Construction of judicial complex inaugurated

MARDAN: Peshawar High Court Chief (PHC) Justice Waqar Ahmed Seth on Saturday inaugurated the construction of a judicial complex at local courts.

An inauguration ceremony was held at the premises of the district courts where PHC Registrar Khwaja Wajih-ud-Din, district and sessions judge Mohammad Rauf Khattak, judges, District Police Officer Sajjad Khan, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abid Wazir, members of the bar councils from Mardan and Peshawar, lawyers and journalists were also present.

On the occasion, Justice Waqar Ahmed Seth said that the judicial complex was a longstanding demand of the lawyer community and it became possible due to the concerted efforts of Peshawar High Court and district judiciary with the cooperation of the district bar. He said that for the construction of judicial complex, 17 kanals of land was allocated. He added that the project will include 30 courtrooms, information kiosk, offices, judicial lockup and modern record room, conference room and a mosque. District Bar Association president Asif Iqbal advocate and general secretary Badshah Rehman advocate also addressed the ceremony and thanked the PHC chief justice for attending the inauguration ceremony. Earlier, the chief justice chaired a meeting with the judges of local judiciary at the district and sessions judge office. The Peshawar High Court registrar also gave briefing to the media at the same venue.
