The 'Sufi Music Night' organised by the Rafi Peer Theatre Workshop in collaboration with Rawalpindi Arts Council in connection with National Action Plan mesmerised the audience of twin cities here on Monday night.
Renowned singers Wahdat Rameez, Saeen Muhammad Ali, Shaukat Dholia and Mian Miri Qawwal performed in the 'Sufi Music Night'.
The evening commenced with Wahdat Rameez's performance. He mesmerised the audience through well-known pieces ‘Meda Ishq Vi Tun’, 'Cheti Aunvi Way tabiba', 'Sanwal Mor Moharan' and Chhap Talak Sab'.
It was followed by Saeen Muhammad Ali’s performance on his ‘ektara’ who brought alive the magic of the traditional pieces of music with 'Key Jana Me Kaon', Ni Me Kamli Yar Di Kamli', 'Allah Ho, Allah Ho' and 'Mast Qalandar.'
The Shaukat Dholia Group cast a spell with their power-packed ‘dhol’ performance, which left the audience spellbound.
The final performance of the extravaganza was by Mian Miri Qawwal Group. Opening with the famous 'Allah Ho, Allah Ho', followed by 'Tajdar-e-Haram, Nigah-e-Karam' and some others.
The group performed an upbeat version of ‘Mera Piya Ghar Aya’, and 'Dil Lagi'. The singers sang the poetry of Khawaja Ghulam Fareed, Baba Bulleh Shah, Amir Khusro and others 'sufi' saints. The night continued for more than three hours.
The participants of the night, giving their views, said notion of love, peace and tolerance must be adopted by everyone.
