Network of Academies of Science of OIC (NASIC) President Professor Dr Atta-ur-Rahman will co-chair two major international conferences, along with the US Nobel laureate professor Ferid Murad, being held in Boston from July 22 to 25.
Dr Atta currently holds the post of president of Network of Academies of Science of OIC (NASIC).
A senior professor of the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) at the University of Karachi said that this was an honour for Pakistan to head the international science conference in the US where number of Nobel laureate professors and scientists of the world would participate.
He said the first conference entitled “Drug Discovery and Therapy World Congress 2015” would bring together a number of Nobel laureates and about 600 top scientists from all over the world to discuss important international breakthroughs in drug discovery and new therapeutics.
The second conference entitled “Global Biotechnology Congress 2015” would provide a platform for researchers and decision-makers in biotechnology to present their latest findings and learn about all the important developments in biotechnology.
Professor Rahman has 1002 publications in several fields of organic chemistry, including 724 research publications, 37 international patents, 68 chapters in books and 173 books, published largely by major US and European presses.
He is the editor-in-chief of eight European chemistry Journals and editor of the world's leading encyclopedic series of volumes on natural products titled ‘Studies in Natural Product Chemistry.’
