Alexandra Grant reveals professional change that came with dating Keanu Reeves
Alexandra Grant credits relationship with Keanu Reeves for major change in professional life
Keanu Reeves and Alexandra Grant both don't shy away from praising each other publicly. One such occurance happened recently at the 2026 MOCA Gala in Los Angeles.
The pair were speaking to the press at the Museum of Contemporary Art event on May 30, where they discussed their relationship and how it has influenced their creative work. Grant complemented him first by noting how her artwork has become noticeably more positive since she began dating Reeves.
“That's a big question,” Grant, whose work has been exhibited in galleries across the country, told People. “I would say that all painting is autobiographical, even though maybe even in abstraction it doesn't look like there's a big narrative, but I would definitely say that my paintings become happier.”
“It's undeniable,” she added of the happy element that loving Reeves adds to her work. “I have to admit that.”
Reeves agreed with the compliment, responding simply that she is "easy to love." However, he was more reserved when asked whether the relationship has influenced his own work, saying he was unsure. “I don't know if it has,” he told the magazine.
The couple first met through creative collaboration and later turned their connection into a romantic relationship in 2019. They co-authored the book Ode to Happiness before later launching a publishing company together.
At the gala, both also spoke about their support for the Museum of Contemporary Art and its role in promoting artists. Reeves also said the event was also a chance to reconnect with friends and support the wider arts community.
