This refers to the letter, ‘Self worth’ (April 18) by Syed Hussein El-Edroos. The writer is expecting something of a miracle from our otherwise corrupt, incompetent and insincere political leadership.
No doubt we have enough resources, talent and the vast majority of masses have self respect but the country is being run by self-styled leaders who are robbing the nation of its wealth. These leaders have no shame in coming up with a begging bowl because they have no morals. The problem is not with the common man but with the rulers who consider this country as their personal fiefdom, and the people are hostage to them. The common man has no say in the country’s decision-making.
