Four people died in different parts of the provincial metropolis on Monday.
A passerby informed the police about a 70-year-old man lying unconscious near Corporation Chowk, Outfall Road, in the Islampura police limits. Police rushed the victim to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him as brought dead.
Police told the media that he looked like a drug-addict and might have died due to excessive use of drugs. However, autopsy will help ascertain the cause of death.
Meanwhile, a 45-year-old unidentified man was found dead in Gulshan-e- Ravi police limits. Police have removed the dead body to morgue for autopsy to ascertain the cause of death. They told the media that he looked like a drug-addict.
Police were searching for the family of the deceased.
A 25-year-old man died under mysterious circumstances in the Mozang police limits on Monday. Police have removed the dead body to morgue for autopsy. The deceased was identified as Muhammad Akram, son of Anwar Elahi, a resident of Yousaf Park.
A passerby informed the police that a man was lying unconscious near League Road, Mozang. Police reached place and rushed the victim to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him as brought dead.
Police found the contact details of his family and informed them. The family of the victim told police that he was suffering from illness for some years. On the day of incident, he left home saying he was going to see his brother Aslam in Islampura. Rather than going there, he came to Mozang and died, police told.
Police have handed over the dead body to his family after completing the legal formalities.

Police have handed over the dead body to the family of the deceased for burial after completing the legal formalities.
accidents: At least 577 road traffic accidents were reported to the Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all the 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours in which 12 lives were lost and 498 seriously injured were shifted to different hospitals of the relevant districts. However, some 210 minor injured were provided first aid by the Rescue 1122 on the spot.
According to a data provided by the PMC, 259 drivers, 26 underage drivers, 105 pedestrians and 356 passengers were among injured of these road traffic accidents. The statistics show 122 RTAs were reported to Lahore Control Room, which affected 139 persons placing the Provincial Capital at the top of the list followed by 52 RTAs in Faisalabad with 65 victims and Multan at third position with 41 RTAs and 43 victims.
Details further show that total 720 persons were affected by road traffic crashes including 558 males and 162 females, while age group of the affected persons show that 99 were under 18 years of age, 473 were between 18 and 40 years and rest of the 148 injured were reported above 40 years.
According to the data, 447 motorbikes, 76 auto rickshaws, 76 motorcars, 34 vans, seven passenger buses, 21 trucks and 78 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in the aforesaid road traffic accidents.
Hitman arrested: The CIA Kotwali Police claimed to have arrested a top-ten Proclaimed Offender and hired-assassin on Monday.
The arrested accused was identified as Shahbzaz alias Boota. The accused was arrested by a special police team. The police team raided a hideout near China Scheme and arrested the accused.
The accused was wanted to police in the murder cases at Bado Mali Police Station, District Narowal, and Gujjar Pura Police Station. The accused is a hired murderer.
SSP Investigation Rana Ayaz Saleem announced commendatory certificates for the special team.
booked: The City Traffic Police registered 34 cases against wheelie doers in different police stations of the metropolis.
Twelve cases in Gulberg, 12 in Shadman, nine in Inchra and one in Defence were registered on the complaint of wardens deployed at different roads on Saturday and Sunday. The City Traffic Police have started a special campaign against the wheelie. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Traffic Police Officer (CTO) Tayyab Hafiz Cheema said the wheelie was a life-taking game.
Traffic Police have launched a crackdown against the wheelie doers, he added. He appealed citizens to cooperate with the police in ending the wheelie and send a photo or video in which the number plate of the motorcycle was obvious to this number 0311-0214666.
