CM inaugurates Punjab Institute of Neurosciences
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Monday inaugurated the Punjab Institute of Neurosciences (PIN) at General Hospital Lahore, a 500-bed facility, including 100-beds emergency and two neuro-theatres.
After the inauguration, he visited different wards and inquired after the health of the patients and asked about the medical facilities. The patients expressed their satisfaction and thanked Shahbaz for the best treatment facilities available in the hospital.
On the occasion, the chief minister was told that the 10-storey building of Punjab Institute of Neurosciences has been constructed with a cost of Rs 3 billion. The eight operation theatres will provide different facilities under one roof and the modern three MRI and CT scan machines have been installed as well. Biometric, infection- control, theatres’ automation and pharmacy management systems have been introduced in the PIN while round-the-clock CCTV monitoring system has been placed for continuous monitoring of cleanliness and security situation.
Separately, Shahbaz said contrary to the public welfare policies of the PML-N, their political opponents had badly ignored the people in their provinces and they would have to face the music in the upcoming elections.
The chief minister said, “Niazi and Zardari have join hands for coming into power. The people will defeat those who remained involved in loot and plunder and sit-ins.”
Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Baligh-ur-Rehman also called on Shahbaz who said education was the basis for durable development.
Also on Monday, the chief minister visited Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute (PKLI) where he chaired a high-level meeting to review the progress of second phase.
