Another ‘Double Shah’ arrested
LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore chapter on Wednesday arrested a proclaimed offender (PO), Asad Majeed, accused of cheating public at large by promising them to return their investments as double.
The accused had been at large since 2015. He cheated general public at large by promising them to return their investments as double, whereby, he managed to collect Rs 23 million with the connivance of co-accused Zulfiqar Ali who is still at abscond. During the course of investigations, it was revealed that both the accused were collecting money, likewise, accused Double Shah did a few years back.
NAB investigation officials had filed a corruption reference in an accountability court after completing case proceeding in 2015, whereas, both the accused were declared proclaimed offenders. The NAB officials would produce accused Asad Majeed before an accountability court for seeking his physical remand.
