Mock emergency exercise at airport
Lahore: A full-scale mock emergency exercise was conducted by Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority at Allama Iqbal International Airport on Wednesday.
To make the exercise look real, CAA made arrangements to extinguish a large-scale fire with the help CAA fire crash tenders at the airport. Simulated injured people were rescued promptly from an aircraft by the CAA and Rescue 1122. The victims were removed to the medical services for first aid. The badly injured were removed to the nearest hospitals through ambulances. An Army Aviation helicopter was also used for the purpose.
Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force, City District Government Health Services, PIA, the ambulances of various city government hospitals and Edhi Foundation also participated in the exercise. The demonstration was witnessed by the representatives of various governmental and non-governmental agencies. CAA Airport Manager Tahir Sikandar appreciated the performance of the participating organisations.
