RAWALPINDI: Foreign Minister of Iran Javad Zarif and Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Republic of Kyrgyzstan Major General Rayimberdi Duishenbiev called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa separately at the General Headquarters (GHQ) on Tuesday.
During the meeting with the Iranian FM, matters of mutual interest, regional security and Pakistan-Iran relations came under the discussion, saida press release issued here by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The visiting dignitary appreciated bilateral security engagements during the recent months and measures initiated by both sides to improve Pakistan-Iran border security.
The COAS said that regional peace was dependent upon wider cooperation within West Asia. “We all need to cooperate to root out transnational security and crimes threat,” he said.
Meanwhile, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Republic of Kyrgyzstan Major General Rayimberdi Duishenbiev called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa here at General Headquarters (GHQ) on Tuesday.
During the meeting matters of mutual interest, including military to military relations, regional security situation and measures to further enhance bilateral defence cooperation were discussed, said a press release issued here by ISPR. Earlier on arrival at GHQ, Chief of General Staff, laid a wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada. A smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Army presented the guard of honour to him.
