INGOs allowed
That the authorities concerned have allowed the disapproved international non-governmental organisations (INGOs) to continue working in Pakistan till a final decision is taken on their appeals. NGOs and INGOs are a vital part of the social and development sectors as they aim to work for the poor, marginalised and most vulnerable community groups. The sector works in an effective manner to introduce innovative solutions and address the needs of all segments that are left unattended by the government.
Many INGOs have significant contributions towards betterment of society, including provision of employment opportunities to a large number of both skilled and unskilled people. The government should devise a policy with regard to the working conditions of these INGOs so that they can continue to contribute towards social, economic and cultural development of Pakistan.
