Public interest cases to be conducted like a movement: CJP

LAHORE: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has said the cases of public interest will be conducted like a movement.
Heading a two-member bench including Justice Ijazul Ahsan, the CJP passed these remarks while hearing a case at the SC Lahore Registry on Friday. He said the top court was taking suo motu notices in the public interest and the positive effects of these cases would reach people soon.
During proceedings, a petitioner stood up and lauded the supreme court’s working. He said people were praying for the success of the judiciary. Seeking help from lawyers and the civil society, the CJP said he could not do anything alone. He requested people to pray for his success.
